John Lukic
John's career started with my debut in 1979 for Leeds United and went on to span four decades being only one of four players to achieve this feat, the others being Steve Ogres, Peter Shilton and the legendary Stanley Matthews.
He spent his career at only two clubs, Leeds and Arsenal and was fortunate to win the league title with both clubs being the only post war goalie to do this with two different teams. The famous Arsenal league win at Anfield in 1989 still lives on in folklore.
His Leeds career started just after Brian Slough left and finished under the tutelage of Arsene Wenger at Arsenal. Over 650 games -including winning and being runner up in the League Cup and Charity Shield and in 1998 being a member of the Arsenal squad that won the Double.
He set the record in 2000 for being the oldest player to play in the Champions although that has now been surpassed by some mediocrity among them Alexandra Costacurta!!
John is a confident speaker and is happy to work on any stage, answering questions or speaking about my days in football.
